Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can you transfer data to a
variety of databases and RMS programs?
- Yes, we are designed to be the best field data
collection system. Therefore, we have developed
powerful data export tools to take collected data
and send it to virtually any specified data
repository system.
2. Is each provider able to
access the database with appropriate security clearance?
- We can provide a single centralized site that
will allow access to all of your data that is HIPAA
compliant. You can control exactly what privileges
you want for each individual care provider.
Our system uses "roles & responsibilities" instead
of traditional passwords. Customers can define
specific "roles," or abilities to view and edit
features; each user can then be assigned a variety
of roles as required. Essentially, each care
provider could have a unique level of security
access, designed and maintained by the local system
administrator(s).
3. What Datasets can you
collect?
- We can collect the NEMSIS dataset concurrently
with any existing or legacy dataset. FieldSaver can
simultaneously collect data points for multiple
different datasets
4. Are you able to receive
data from computer aided dispatch software?
- We can receive data from CAD systems over a
TCP/IP connection. Currently, the most efficient
approach is to send the information directly from
the CAD server to our SQL database. From our
experience, the expense of "real-time" wireless CAD
data to the field does not justify the minimal extra
information that may be gained
5. Are you able to access
EMS policies, procedures, and drug guides?
- The system is capable of displaying all the
treatment items for a particular protocol, making it
quick and easy to document the common treatments
associated with that protocol. In addition, we can
attach the text for that particular protocol, so in
just a single tap field personnel can directly
access the specific protocol they need. We can also
store the entire protocol manual on the handheld for
reference, and these reference materials can
automatically be updated during the synching
process. Any of these programs can be used in
conjunction with FieldSaver.
6. Are you able to share
data on-scene electronically?
- Yes, FieldSaver handhelds can transmit
in-process or complete reports to other FieldSaver
handhelds at the scene, and/or at the hospital. This
is done via infrared transmission between the
handhelds. Infrared printers can also be used to
print draft or completed Patient Care Reports.
7. Can you interface with
billing software?
- We can interface with any billing software
system. IN addition we can customize the data
collection to ensure crews are prompted to collect
the right data in the field. What you put in the
billing fields is a very important part of the PCR.
FieldSaver can automate this, so you will have
optimal billing information.
8. Can Fieldsaver be used on
a laptop or desktop?
- Yes, when you cradle the handheld it can display
on your PC and you can use a mouse and keyboard.
This way you can have the best of both worlds, a
powerful field data collection tool that can fit in
your pocket with all the features of a laptop or PC.
